Senior Lecturer in Production Design

As an artist and designer Jane has more than twenty years' professional experience within the creative industries. Initially starting out as a sculptor and theatre, set and costume designer she moved to work as a production designer on film sets. In addition to her professional practice Jane has taught a wide range of students both within the formal education and community arts sectors.

Career highlights include working on the stop motion animation Peter and the Wolf directed by Susie Templeton, which won an Oscar for best-animated short film in 2007. Jane has also designed a number of Lynne Ramsey film including Ratcatcher, Movern Caller, Gasman, Kill the Day and Small Deaths all of which have received critical acclaim and won awards at the Cannes Film Festival. She also worked as a designer on the BAFTA award winning Lynne Ramsey film Swimmer, which was commissioned as part of the Cultural Olympiad.

Recent credits include the feature film Light Years directed by Esther May Campbell (2015) and a short film The Carer directed by Christina Parker (2016). Jane is currently working on a production of experimental documentary feature film Jayne Mansfield 66/67 directed by P. David Ebersole and Todd Hughes.
